Dr. Maxwell is a member of the Maxwell-Boev Clinic. Dr. Maxwell has been a member of the Medical and Dental Staff at Rochester General Hospital since 1981, and serves at the Division Head of Neurological Surgery at RGH.
Dr. Maxwell earned his Medical Degree from Columbia University and completed his residency at Strong Memorial Hospital and a Fellowship at the Neurological Institute of New York (where he served as Chief Resident) and The National Hospital Queens Square. He also completed his general surgery resident at Strong Memorial Hospital. He then returned to Columbia Neurological Institute in NYC to complete a neurosurgical residency. He also did a fellowship in neuropathology at Queens Square Hospital in London, England.
He is board certified and a member of the International College of Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He specializes in spinal surgery, Trigeminal Neuralgia and brain tumors.
Angel Boev, MD, (Neurosurgery)
Dr. Boev earned his MD degree at Mercer University School of Medicine. During his residency training at the University of Rochester, he had a special focus in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery and the management of tumors of the brain and spine. Dr. Boev also received extensive training in endoscopic surgery of the pituitary gland. Dr. Boev is a member of several professional organizations (including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons) and has numerous publications and national and international presentations on topics including the treatment of spine disorders, brain tumors and intracranial hemorrhage.
